The education of a PhD student at the Doctoral School lasts eight semesters, with the possibility of shortening it to 6 semesters, provided that the education program and individual research plan are completed and ends with the submission of a doctoral thesis.
Reducing the duration of the doctoral thesis to a period shorter than eight semesters requires obtaining the consent of the Director of the Doctoral School and agreeing on the method of implementing the entire educational program.

The doctoral student submits his doctoral dissertation twice
The doctoral dissertation must be submitted to the College of Sciences within 14 days of issuing the confirmation mentioned above by the Director of the Doctoral School.

At the request of a Doctoral Student, the Director of the Doctoral School may extend the deadline for submission of a doctoral dissertation specified in the Individual Research Proposal. Grounds for extending the dissertation submission deadline (thus extending the education at Poznan University of Medical Sciences Doctoral School) are outlined in § 17 of the Regulations of the Doctoral School of Poznan University of Medical Sciences.
