PhD Scholarship
The PhD scholarship awarded by the Doctoral School is tax-free. However, social security contributions (pension, disability and accident insurance) are deducted from the gross scholarship amount specified in the regulations below, in accordance with social security legislation.
The doctoral scholarship is paid monthly (at the end of each month) during the study period at the Doctoral School, but for no longer than 4 years.
There is no need to submit an application for the scholarship.
In accordance with Order No. 119/2025 of the Rector of Poznan University of Medical Sciences, the amount of the doctoral scholarship for the 2025/2026 academic year is as follows:
1) PLN 3,467 gross up to and including the month in which the mid-term evaluation is carried out,
2) PLN 5,341 gross from the month following the mid-term evaluation.
Order No. 54/2026 of the Rector of the Poznan University of Medical Sciences amending Order No. 119/25 sets the amount of the doctoral scholarship for the 2025/2026 academic year, payable from 1 January 2026 until the end of the 2025/2026 academic year, as follows:
1) PLN 3,571 gross up to and including the month in which the mid-term evaluation is carried out,
2) PLN 5,501 gross from the month following the mid-term evaluation.
Payments of the doctoral scholarship for the months from January to May 2026 will be made in June 2026.

We kindly inform you that the authorities of the Doctoral School have prepared for you a competition for research grants for 2026, which will be financed from the statutory subsidy for young scientists.
We invite you to read the Rules of the competition procedure and to submit your projects.
o Applications must be submitted by February 6, 2026.
o the competition will be adjudicated by April 30, 2026.
o implementation takes place in the following periods:
- SRG 01.05.2026 – 30.04.2027 r.
- LRG 01.05.2026 – 30.04.2028 r.

Financial aid for PhD students at Poznan University of Medical Sciences Doctoral School
REGULATIONS FOR GRANTING FINANCIAL AID
The financial aid is a one-time, non-refundable cash benefit granted on a discretionary basis.
Financial aid may be awarded to a doctoral student who is temporarily facing difficult life circumstances, but only upon their request.
The doctoral student must provide documentation on deterioration of their living situation.
A doctoral student wishing to apply for a financial aid must submit an APPLICATION.
The application for financial assistance must be accompanied by relevant documentation confirming financial hardship or the occurrence of an unforeseen event.
The doctoral student must submit a printed and signed application, along with attachments documenting the deterioration of their financial situation, to PUMS Doctoral School Office, 70 Bukowska St., Poznań.
Please read the Regulations.
A doctoral student may apply for financial assistance no later than 4 months after the occurrence of the unforeseen event. If the unforeseen event occurred between March 27, 2026, and May 5, 2026, the four-month period begins on May 5, 2026.
